- to the OP @smeagleeeye - you don't need to do the L99 to LS3 conversion. The VVT in our L99 engines is really good so long as you find a great VVT cam and tuner. I would strongly suggest you check out Gwatney Performance (GPI). They are the best in the business and have been pumping our ridiculously fats cars with VVT left in-tact.
